Hi Folks - Now with a picture!

New
I might be new to Mustangs but I've been around cars since my school days.
The 1970 Mach1 I look after (and drive) is my daughter's.
Her car is a San Jose built with a 351c; FMX and 83/4" open.
She is the second owner. The car was off the road for 12yrs in Ca and is now ready to register here in Western Australia.
It won't be a daily drive, registered only for Club Runs, Tuning and Testing.
We had several late nights and swore a lot at it during the wrenching sessions but it is ready now.
We even found the factory build sheet during the work; stuffed up in the dash.
Converting the rear indicators to amber was enough to have a thread of its own but its OK now.
My other words of wisdom are on Bimmerfest as BMWFatherFigure; I have 7 BMWs myself to look after.
I really look forward to sharing info with you all
Regards
M1FF

Pictures to follow!! Thumbup

Welcome - Glad to have you here with us.

Western Australia - I have some friends that lived in Perth and some that still do.

Your daughter's Mach 1 sounds like the right ticket and evidently you have become quite familiar with it. What attracted your daughter to the Mach 1?

I have often thought of owning a BMW 325 but, so many cars so little driveway.

I look forward to your post.

Welcome to the site M1FF! I have never been to Australia but had the opportunity to meet some wonderful and fun people in the Australian Navy when I served. Good times!

Please share some pictures of the your daughter's 70 Mach 1!

Very nice Mach 1.

Is your daughter able to enjoy the Mach 1 frequently?

What drew her to purchase the Mach 1 being that you are more drawn to the BMW's and the odd Holden?

Not as much as she would like due to study comitments.
I think it was the chrisma of the marque and then seeing the style she really liked. She is a little suprised by the handeling (or lack thereof) compared with her daily drive (my MINI sedan) but the shape and mistique still attract her.

So M1FF, I have a BMW question.

What are your thoughts on a 1977 633 csi?

A good example with a reasonable service history will go up in value.

The value (as a buyer) is in the body. Damage and rust will mean beat the price down or walk.

The engine (if looked after) is good for 250k miles. Radiator can be on the small side. Leather interior needs dressing to retain condition.

Main electrical / electronic problems are bad connections and inept previous repairs. Engine and gearbox are shared with '5' and '7' of same age. Some other parts also shared.

realoem and Pelican Parts will be your best friends.

I would make room in my place for an E24 early '6' anytime.

Thank you.

I shall have to see if a BMW 6 is in my future.
