I was doing some research on Mach 1's and this seemed like a good community to be a part of. I'm helping my dad get his '69 Mach 1 road worthy, giving him some incentive to work on it himself. He's had it since '74 I think and is the third owner, got it with a 351W and a blown head gasket.
351c now with Holley 650, headers and now straight pipes. I cut off the mufflers last weekend. They looked like shotgun shells went off in them. My first time actually under the car amazed me at the great condition of the frame and under body.
The clutch is shot so for Fathers day my bothers and I are doing the clutch. Got a Fidanza 13lb flywheel and McLeod Super Street Pro Clutch to match up to the 4spd with Hurst shifter he already has. I'm tempted to put some Redline synthetic fluid in the 4sp, what do you guys recommend? I have good experiences with Redline MTL90 for my '82 Datsun 280zx but that is a far newer transmission than the Mach 1. I'm in northern Ca so 100 degree hill climbs are normal, I usually use the heaviest recommended specs I can find.
