Hello to everyone out there. My first car was a 1973 Green Mach 1 purchased in 1977 and I still have it. It has been stored for the last 30 years and I was glad to find this site before I start to redo it. I am looking at doing a restomod on it and cant wait to read about what is out there for this body style on this site.

Hello and welcome to the site. It's pretty amazing you still retain ownership of your car after all these years. I would say most people let them go for one reason or another. I wish I had the same foresight but if I did I would be the owner of a Chevy
right now.
There are plenty of aftermarket components out there for the old Mustangs that will make your restomod project successful. Any particular direction you are thinking of?

Welcome.
Glad to have you check in with us.
Recent years have been good to us 71-73 owners with more and more parts coming into reproduction and with the Internet almost any answer is at your fingertips.
Fill us in on a little more of your history with your first car. Like Mike, if I would have held on to my first car it would have been a 57 Chevy Belair - what a shame that would have been. :)
My 1970 Torino GT 351C 4-V made a believer out of me and my proper era Ford is now a 73 Mach 1.
Share some pictures of your history with the car as well. Yours is a great story.

Steven, If cars were like a hand of poker, your 57 Chevy Belair trumps my 70 Monte Carlo (LOL)!

Not a bad purchase ($324.00 in 1979) for a kid straight out of Africa.

Definitely, not bad. Let's put into perspective...in 2014 dollars you would have spent a whopping $1,055...try to find a 57 today for that price!
