Hi, my name is Darla. I bought my 2004 40th anniversary Mach 1 in 2007. My husband was going to retire the following year and our plan was to travel and enjoy the car. Unfortunately, he passed away 5 months after I bought the car. It has been parked in my garage (covered) ever since. I have driven it occasionally in the summer months, but rarely. Not sure what I'm going to do with the car.

Welcome Darla,
My condolences for your loss. What a tragic turn of plans.
It sounds like you and your husband had some good plans in store and a great car to accomplish them.
My first inclination is to encourage you to go ahead with you and your husbands plan to travel with the Mach 1, although traveling solo is just not the same as enjoying the trip with a loved one. For some I think the trip would be a great help over the hurdle of the loss but for others it would maybe be another burden too heavy.
The 04 Mach 1 is a great car (as I am sure you know). We are here to happily help in any way that we can.

Sincere condolences from Australia. That's a tragic story. Each persons grief is different, and I do not have enough life experience to make any suggestions for you. However I can share my thoughts about my Dad and that might help in some way.
I currently drive our Mustang with my 69 year old Dad in tarmac rally racing, and I am facing the reality that he will pass on too. For me, I reckon that I will miss him to bits every day, but driving the car even without him will bring back good memories of him.
My Dad did a road trip around Australia in his Mustang when he was younger. I reckon I might re-create his road trip when he passes on. I can take photos for him and tell him all about it on the way round.
Maybe PM Steven Harris - I have met him and some of his family. They are wonderful people and I feel he is someone that anyone could turn to for help on any level about anything (and with life experience to back it up!).

Very kind words Peter. Thank you.
Peter's Dad, Ian, is a tremendous guy with a huge heart. A trip back to Tasmania would be worth it just to spend another couple of hours with him.
Getting past a death of such a close loved one is a big step.

Welcome to the site Darla! Sorry about the lose of your husband. At least you both got to enjoy the Mach 1 for several months before he passed away. Your Mach 1 looks great and hopefully you will decide to keep it and take it for the occasional drive.
