I'm currently rebuilding a Demon (holley 4160) carb. The problem is that I can't get the metering blocks free from the valve body. Any ideas?
I welcome all input positive, negative, and everything in between.
Thanks,
Keith

Sorry Keith - not much help from me. I don't believe I have ever had that problem. The obvious is let them soak but no doubt that is the first step you tried.
Here's hoping someone else has your solution.

I can't imagine a Demon Carb having the old cork gaskets??? which I have seen stick alot! As Steven said soaking them with WD-40 or something similar. Then take a plastic mallet and strike sharply on a flat side of the block to force it sideways from the main body, should do the trick. I've never heard of the newer "plastic" ( I can't think of the right word) gaskets sticking. HUH? something new? JTS 71 Mach1

Great advice already has been given and it should work for you. Let us know if it doesn't. I am not familiar with the Demon Carb, but if the advice above does not work you may also want to confirm there are no hidden screws holding the metering block on.
