I was in 6th grade in 1969 and in my 20s I found a school notebook from that year on which I had drawn a 69 Mach 1. I wanted one for years. The body shop where I was having my 82 GT repainted had a 69 Mach 1 completely stripped to bare metal and it had no rust whatsoever on it. It had come from Arizona and had lots of sun damage to the paint and all the rubber, but the body was spotless. I said to the shop owner, "Dave, if you EVER want to sell that car, give me a call". To my surprise, 5 years later he called and said, "Hey Huck, I'm selling that 69 Mustang". I immediately went to the bank, took out a home-equity loan and bought the car 2 days later. That was 1997. Now I put a couple of hundred miles on it almost every summer weekend in the mountains of PA and WV (with my wife behind me in her 71 Buick GS 455). I take one kid and she takes the other. We use FRS radios to be able to talk during the long mountain drives. That 455 GS could outrun me - but perhaps not after this winter when the 410 stroker is complete. :-)

Not very often. She sits too low in the Mustang and doesn't like trying to see over the hood scoop. I drive hers frequently to troubleshoot things and test drive fixes, etc. The 455's a beast, but may have trouble keeping up with the new 69 upgraded 410 that will be on the road soon. :-)
