Rear Bumper Accents
#1
Does anyone know when the 2004 Mach 1 left the factory, did it have any kind of black accenting on the rear bumper? I have seen white cars with black highlighting in the word MUSTANG!! and also black on the lower indent of the rear bumper??
Or did they all come plain?? Is this after market?

THERE IS A FORD ACCESSORY PART NUMBER 2R3Z 16605 AA STILL AVAILABLE FOR THE BLACK LETTERS. LOOKS LIKE THERE WAS ALSO WHITE, ORANGE, AND GREEN/PURPLE LETTERS WHICH ARE NOW OBSOLETE.

This is what you are talking about. http://www.graphic-express.com/n680-n686.asp Most "Official Ford License" Very high quality. I have their black bumper letters on my 03 Mach and my 89 LX 5.0. Also have their silver molding stripe on my 89.

The "MUSTANG" accent letters were not applied at the factory.

I thought about applying them to my rear bumper on the 04 Oxford White Mach 1, but I decided it would draw attention away from the Mach 1 emblem on the trunk lid. We do have the accent letters on my sons 01 Bullitt (the black letters don't show up well in the picture on the green) and my step sons 04 Azure Blue Mach 1. They both had them on there when we bought the cars (used).
