1969 Mach I - 428 CJ/Shaker - 4 speed
#1
Hi gentlemen,

Long time Mustang owner (the 'new' stuff - from 1985 -->) but this is my first 'classic' mustang. I think the '69 Mach and Boss 429s represent the aesthetic pinnacle of Mustang development and so I've been waiting for a chance for a long time.... :). I attached a picture but I'm not sure it's showing up.

Thanks!

Welcome Chuck, thanks for joining up.

Yes, the picture showed up LOUD and CLEAR! Very nice.

So, now that you have stepped back in time, what do you think?

She's in the garage with her stablemate right now while we get the title transfer stuff done. After that I can give you a fuller report (although we are getting to the end of the season here in Ohio).

I got Barry Robotnik's book on high performance FEs and have been making my list (Dear.... Santa..... Claus.....). I realized once I got done that I'd be swapping almost everything north of the clutch with the exception of the short block. Hmmmmm.......

Anyway, I have lots of questions. Hopefully I can keep the dumber ones to a minimum. :)

Hi Chuck and welcome to the site. Absolutely agree the 69's aesthetically define the Mustang and what Ford was out to accomplish in keeping pace with the muscle cars coming out of Detroit during that period. Both your cars look great and and you came to the right place for questions.

Welcome Chuck. The only dumb question is the one that isn't asked. Shoot if we all knew everything about these cars, we wouldn't need a great site like this to share info and friendship. Jump on in and enjoy. JTS 71 Mach1
