Put the drivetrain from a 76 bronco in it. Lifted it and painted it. It was a sharp bronco. Had about 350 hp from the 302 and 4.11 gears. I could pull the front wheels off the ground pretty easily in this thing. Had it on ebay for sale and a guy from SC called and asked if i was interested in a trade for a 1971 mach 1. We sent countless pics to each other and spent 5 months hashing out the details. Finally both agreed and he delivered it to me in Pa from SC and gave me $1000 on top of that. I was very happy to be the new owner of a mach 1. I have had that car about 5 years now and done a ton of work to it. Heres a pic of the bronco, the car the day it was delivered and a pic of it now.
sorry that pic was kinda big! still new at this.
Looks like it worked out good for you.Loved them both.

Nice looing Beetle; looks like you put a lot of work into it! But I bet you'll enjoy the Mach 1 a whole lot more, even though it's going to use more gas!

Well I don't have any pictures but an interesting story. Since I was 12 years old I have wanted a 71-73 Mach 1, Car of my dreams!!!! Well 20 years later a co-worker kids blows the motor in his 83 blazer and he asked me to rebuild it. So I rebuild the 350 and got it running. My co worker kid decides to go to college and can't afford to drive this big old thing so I buy it from him knowing the motor is in great shape since I rebuilt it. Well one day I'm at a swap meet with the blazer and there a guy selling a Mach 1 complete. Runs really bad. He has a cash offer on the car. I looked at it and I didn't have any money so I continue with the swap meet. It gets to be late in the afternoon and everyone is loading up and leaving. My buddy I'm with says Go see if he will trade you the Mach for the blazer all he will say is no. Well make a long story short I leave with a mach 1 and no longer own a blazer. Worked out great. Rebuild the entire car top to bottom. My wife and I where married in the car and my oldest boy seems to think he's going to drive it to school. Sorry for the long story.
