Great documentation Dennis!
Wow - what a process. The original pictures look like a deal for the original price you paid. Were you aware of all the problems that lurked under the surface?
Looking back and for the benefit of others who follow; is there anything you would change?
Thank you for sharing.

I wouldn't change a thing. The satisfaction I have when I drive my car(daily) is that it was not an easy build. This was the third complete restoration I have done, and by far the most difficult. Every show I go to I have an album of the same pics. People just can't believe I would repair a car that was that far gone.
I was aware of most of the issues. The car had been t-boned in the passengers door and there was a ton of Bondo. I found that with the magnet test. The motor was tired, the floorboards were gone, I could see the gas tank through the trunk.
The car was originally bought in Spokane, Washington and spent all of it's life in the Northwest. So I new going in there was going to be significant rust issues.

Great work and documentation. How long did it take you from start to finish?

Right at a year. I started the first week of January 2009 and completed the first part of February 2010.

Beautiful! I had a '72 Q-code 4-speed, and it was Light Pewter too. It was stolen, and I still miss that car...

Having seen all those pictures frankly scares the piss out of me. I have no intention of making this car a show car, yours looks awesome btw, but my son's has some small spots on the outside and I am afraid to take off panels etc. How much would that much rust repair cost for a guy to have to pay a body shop to do?
