Evening all. I am new to this site and hope to learn and build knowledge and friendship. I will try to get pics up ASAP of my 1972 mach one. 72 Mach 1's have all been my personal favorites. However this is the first one I have ever owned.

I am a 69-70 Mach 1 fanatic myself but it seems like that there are more fans of the 71-73 Mach 1 cars on this site.

It is a great place to ask questions and enjoy the friendship.
Have fun here.

Welcome.Biggrin

Thanks everyone. My 72 Mach 1 is new to me. I have had it only a month. I found it at a consignment auto sales business. I had been watching it for several weeks. It just kinda lept out at me everytime I went by it. The price was going down every week. Somebody wanted to get rid of it pretty badly. It's probably 85% restored and is in remarkably great condition. It ran poorly though and overheated something fierce. Well, they hit the magic number about a month ago, and I bought it. She got a tuneup a new carburetor right out of the gate. That cured the poorly running issue. I found that the bowl in the carburetor had a crack in it and that was the main reason for running poor. As for the severely overheating issue, It didn't have a T-stat installed it had very old hoses and a fan that was way to small for a cleveland motor. So, with that being said, I put new radiator hoses,a new Cleveland T-Stat,a new 7 blade mechanical fan and a hi-flow water pump. I drilled me a couple of holes (1/8") in the new T-Stat and jacked her front end up to get all the air out of the motor and bam, she runs "hot" not overheating but great. 23_30_106

Sounds like you off to a good start to finish the remaining 15% of the restoration; but remember, they are never really finished! Biggrin
