Starting problems 351C 2V in the morning

Hy. I´m a very fresh owner and member also. And I don´t have so much experience.
Maybe someone might help me?
My 1970 351C 2V badly starts in the morning. He runs for 1-2 sec. Than he won´t start again. When he runs, he runs well. But it takes minutes and lots of pumps till he is doing his work.
Is it possible that the gas runs back in tank overnight?
Or do I have problems with the carburetor or cold-start automatic ?
Should I first install an pressure holding valve ? The system is sealed I think. The sparkplugs are new..

I had similar issues with my Jeep (if you even think about touching the pedal during start-up, you're flooded).

I would take the carb off and rebuild it (new seals, gaskets, float & valve, and accelerator pump) - MC2100 is one of the easiest carbs to rebuild (I switched over to one on my Jeep, as a matter of fact). Make sure the float is set correctly and things should improve.

Another possible issue: the fuel pump should not allow the gas to retreat THAT quickly, so you might look to replacing it as well (if the carb rebuild doesn't affect the issue). I did not want to suffer any such issues with my newly rebuilt 351C-2V, so I went with an electric fuel pump and blocked off the mechanical pump altogether. Of course, I also went a little crazy with aftermarket stuff in the way of Edelbrock Performer carb & intake, for starters.

It definitely sounds like a carburetor rebuild issue. Take you time with the rebuild and make sure all passages are clean (use a small wire, plenty of cleaner and blow threw them) and you should come out great.

Both very great advice as always comes from here also check the short rubber hoses on the fuel lines cause if it starts sucking air no fuel to carb will result and welcome to the site as always
