I was going to purchase a tumbler but they were out of stock when I was in the U.S. No doubt that would be the cat's meow for bolts and so forth. Glad to hear it worked for you.

Depending on the part, I use the best method applicable. Options are good.

Well keep trying , they are a great tool to have. For the money , I have already saved that amount by not having to purchase replacement bolts , nuts and washers , clips etc .
I am also experimenting with differant products for the polishing . I tryed some floor oil absorb and it did a fair job , next is going to be a kitty litter. If they prove to work , the cost for media will be conderably less.
The nice thing about this set up is you set it up with your media and parts ,turn on the switch and go do something else. When it's done you can sift out the parts and they are dry and clean , ready for what ever you want to do with them.
By the way , you can use these things to polish rocks, silver wear , plastics , Stainless steel or anything you want to polish .even wood parts that are to small to sand . All you need do is have the right media .

i think your clutch pedal assembly looks good, very clean. If those pedals don't work out or you decide to go with a newer 5 spd., be aware that vintage clutch pedals "push" to actuate (disengage) the clutch. Fox body clutches actually pull to disengage the clutch, even though you're pushing it down.

Thanks Keith,

Because of the push/pull difference that you mentioned I am planning to go hydraulic. American Powertrain now makes a kit for the 71-73 Mach 1's

but I am make-my-own minded so we will see. A 5 speed would be nice.

Steven,
I considered converting my daily driver (69 Cougar 351w) to a 5 spd. I've got a good friend who would be glad to do most of the work for me. (Ive got chronic low back pain). Unfortunately my wife has not learned to drive a stick & has no desire to learn. On occasions she enjoys driving the Cougar. Now my 72 Mach 1 has a 351cj, 4spd so I'm happy & so is she!
Good luck on whatever you decide to do,

I

dealing with rust is an issue to some extent on cars from every part of the U.S.A. Here in Illinois it can be a matter of replacing floors, 1/4 panels etc. out west it can be light surface rust. A product that has worked well for me is Eastwoods spray can rust converter. I'm going to give the cleaning process, that started this thread, a try.
