I have been trying to get the decorative plate above the glove compartment off all day. There is a fastener inside the dash that I can't tell what kind it is or how to get it off. It seems like it is a plastic stud with a hex fastener of some kind.

Usually, the hex nut comes off the stud, and it pushes back through the front to remove. Someone at some point might've put some adhesive on the backside of the emblem to help it stick.

There are 4 plastic studs with speed nuts on them, I think the nuts were 5/8 socket
There are also 2 screws by the air vent

My apologies - I was thinking about an emblem or something attached to the camera-case textured plate (duh)... not the plate itself.

Eric, I though the same thing at first, skipped answering him, went on to other posts and the light came on later. Don
