Lots of good advice laid out above. I have to agree with everyone here. I would try to get the most car for the least amount of money. In other words, if you spend a few thousand dollars more up front it may save you thousands down the road, Like Master Blaster said, you may locate a 69 Mach 1 in need of major panel replacement but is missing the drivetrain and interior for $1,000 but you will eventually need to get these parts which in the long run will cost you more...and 69 Mach 1 parts are not cheap like the 65-68 Mustangs.
