So, I took a much needed little break from working on my resolved dirty gas tank problem, (Big thanks to Steve Harris and Ohio Mustang) and added five more horsepower by rewiring the old Sony radio w/missing power button. The negatives ended up being connected to the wrong wire. LOL, I'd love to say it works great, but not to bad if you can get passed all the crackeling from three blown speakers!
It's the little things that keep the fun in fixing up a car.

Glad your making progress. I like to jump from different types of projects on my car when one gets boring or frustrating.

If you can hear the blown out speakers? You need louder mufflers! JTS71 Mach1

I understand about the break.I tried to fix radio in my 73 Mach 1.Worked on it for two days but still cant get Kenwood stereo to work right. No one but me to blame. I Installed it back 1986. Of course I was younger then and could work upside down then and I could see alot better then also.Next time I work on it I will run new wires from battery instead of using wires from fuse box.Wished I had kept am 8 track that came with the car. Cant afford the ones I have found on line. The radio is one of the things Thats not Original.Every time I drive everybody looks and a couple of people always say nice car.My wife says I'm going through my second childhood but I done think this counts cause Ive had it for 38 years. Next I going to change carpet on fold down rear seat.

I agree with you that it does not count as I have had my 73 Convertible for 38 years as of February 2012. Actually I'm not sure I ever finished my first childhood when it comes to Mustangs, still waiting to start my second childhood.

Just a thought, the ground wires in mine were connected all wrong going out to the speakers. I only heard the music from songs and could barely make out singing. the grounds were looped into one another and connected to the wrong ground wire.
