New '70 Mach 1

My dad and I bought a 1970 Mach 1 this weekend in Arizona. The car is fully restored. It has a 351 4v, is white with blue interior, has a 3 speed auto, ac, and hood tach. The car also has an original and complete shaker hood, though it was not a factory shaker car.

We are currently restoring a '67 cougar, though it is on the rotisserie right now, and will be for a while. We are looking forward to just washing, waxing, and driving the Mach 1.

Any suggestions or things to look out for? We are newbies with the mustang (minus the cougar experience, but that is a restomod whereas the Mach 1 is going to be kept stock with some minor period correct mods).

We actually bought it through a separate auction, so we did not have any first hand experience with them. I would actually be interested in information on them if anyone has it.

Very nice looking Mach 1! Judging from what I see - Yeah, look out for those red and blue lights if you get on it too hard.

Here are some pics of my Z and the Cougar when we first received it. My dad and I did a full resto on the Z in one winter. Since then it has won several awards/honors. We are doing an even more extensive resto/mod on the Cougar, with a full TCI suspension and most likely a Ford Racing 427W.

Well I'm not saying anything bad about them, but I have heard a few bad things. Ive been to this dealership since its local to me, and Id be leery of buying from them without a full out inspection. I hope it worked well for you!!

We inspected the car quite thoroughly on the auction grounds. We obviously didn't get to drive it; but we crawled all over, and under, it. We found a few flaws, but for the most part it appeared to be a well put together car. We did wait around for it to start up when moving to the staging area, and it sounded dead on.

If you have any more info, or things that I should specifically look out for when the car gets delivered, I'd really appreciate it (pm me if you don't want to post it in public).
