Been a year....so.....
Old motor OUT....and new motor in....now gotta hook all that stuff Up..
Here was the Knocking sound....
Roller 302 installed.....
Been sitting to long, now the banger is running, I pushed it to the side till my grill and gas tank get here, and put the Mustang front and center....Will have it running by the end of the week...should be drivable as it was before the bolts came out....
WELL...dude who sold me the 5.0 is a big fat liar!! Motor has more blow by, than ANY running motor I have ever seen....I do have another, so I guess this week, I will be pulling it out, and switching it out....Good news is I only got screwed out of $250 dollars.......
I have the other 5.0L, I will just clean it up, paint it up, and install it.....
well, the 5.0L OUT....stripped off the pans, timing cover and all, thanks to Fel-Pro for that slick 1 peice oil pan gasket, not using the 85 Alum, factory intake on it this time, got a Edelbrock sitting around, goint to use it....work a little easier this week, maybe get it back in by the end of the week....
Motor back in.......start hooking up stuff tomorrow....Tommy boy helped get it back in....
You know as many times as I put motors together, I must have screwed something up, oil pump shaft has an issue, had to pull the motor BACK out...(took Tommy boy and I 30 minutes, and I have to drop the pan, fix it, install the new lower motor crossmember, and then, re-install the motor....but, I have most of the other stuff done.....
Anybody need a stock 84-85 GT intake, I am using the Edelbrock I had on the shelf.....
Yep, my dumb (BEEP) some how popped the drive shaft OUT of the pump! took 2 minutes to fix, only took 10 minutes to install it back, also cleaned and painted a Lower Front Motor Crossmember in, had to pull the whole frame together by an 1" or two!!! somebody took it off, and like a Falcon, the lower A-Arms will spread if they are not held, so I am sure the driving will be much better, I also got an upper Monte-Carlo bar I am installing.....
shaft not in pump
motor back in and hooking stuff up....
YES, it lives.....the more it ran, the smoother its getting, at 160 degrees, it is holding 50lbs oil pressure....I am HAPPY.....

she fires right up, going to clean up some wiring, tidy it up, then start cleaning up the insides....then off to storage till spring, when I can do some body work...but I did sealer prime the new/used hood I bought a year ago, my other had over 1/2 body in the rear drivers side edge, they just need to adjust the hood hinge! lots of adjustments WAY out of wack...But over the next few months, I will adjust on it, and get her looking pretty good....
