My 2012 Shelby GT500
#1
I recently purchased a new pony err snake Biggrin I got a good offer on my 2010 GT and I figured I would reach for the stars. I had to have the 550 HP. Although I might be a little sad I didn't wait for the 2013 with 650 HP I knew I wouldn't be able to cover the cost difference since the base is rumored to be around 65k. Since I paid nearly 15k less it just made better sense to me. 550 HP is hard enough to handle on the street, when you drive it normal its very tame, when you put your foot into it you can get in trouble, its a freaking adrenaline rush actually.

Loving it so far, has 550 HP, 3:73 gears, the electronics package, meaning the stereo etc is top notch, I just added 1100 watt amps and 12 inch subs and tweeters which really brought the stereo to life. Grabber blue with the stripe delete, and the black interior with the Recaro racing seats.

I was a little embarrassed and didn't want people here to think I was gloating. As much as I love this Shelby, I still wish it was a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air!
This one would do!

But since financing an older car is nearly impossible I had to buy what I can obtain easily. Ive got great credit but limited cash reserves.
Everyone should have the chance to own a 550 HP factory Shelby, with warranty makes it even better. Pray I'm very thankful.

All I can say is Gears Better take out some stock in a Reputible Rubber Company. As I think your gonna need it. Have fun with it, if your driving record can stand it! JTS 71 Mach1

I got a good deal on my insurance its actually covered now as an exotic and my insurance is 1025.00 per year with 60k agreed value.

Its insured through http://www.classiccollectors.com/

I have a good agent if anyone's looking for insurance since Grundy no longer insures collector cars.

Okay, so I have been absent for a few days and just got back today. While attempting to catch up on the new post (some 430) one of the first things I noticed was your new signature and have been knocking off the post in order to get to this one.

Wow - very nice. I love the color.

Good information on the insurance deal as well.

So, do you have any other mods or upgrades planned for the Shelby besides the amp and speakers? Did you order it with the stripe delete and just buy it from the lot. I think if I had a GT 500 I'd have to have the stripes!
