T5 going in....

here are the pics and description of the 3 speed (2.77) trans to a T5 out of a 89 Mustang 4 cly on the cheap...

What you'll need:

T5 from a V8 or 4 cly Mustang, they say the V6 can be used, but you have to do other things....Free from a buddy OVCFCA member rebuilt it for 100 bucks....

Adapter for bell housing....Modern Driveline has it.....about $250 bucks has all hardware needed.

New Clutch disc 10 tooth, at a minimum...I got disc from MD, and a new cover from another OVCFCA member, Sir Loin of Beef....for Free, had the alignment tool

New Throw out bearing from T5 Mustang, Falcon one too small. $15 Advanced

Crossmember...eBay $100.00

I had to change my rear end yoke as B&T in Milford ohio couldn't make or balance that TINY little U-joint $75 and I had to modify the OD and lenght to match old one. using a lathe.

Mate the Motor/Clutch/Bellhousing and adapter, *** don't forget to thread seal your flywheel bolts, or the back crank journal will leak through the bolts, and soke your clutch disc.

Had to cut floor brace because shifter is located so far back, you can change the tailshaft and not have to cut, S10 style, but requires a lot of work and $$$ and I am cheap...

Had my seat re-done when it was painted, we added a cut out for shifter clearance, I used the Mustang shifter and heated it and beat with a hammer to take a bend out....

motor sits nice...

Also had to cut my exhaust as it hit the trans, I will have a pipe made...
Hood on now and wrapping up and hooking up all the little stuff..

More to come as I fire it up and adjust it all out....but heading to SEMA Monday...I will be done and driving by Thanksgiving!!!

The Ranchero is looking nice.

My son and I did the T-5 conversion in his 71 Maverick which came out super nice.

I am lined up to do the same swap in my daughter's 67 Ranchero using the original 6 cylinder as well. The T-5 is out of a V6 unit.

Thanks, our shop used to be a Sunoco shop, it was built in 1939 and we have operated it as a repair shop stating in 1997 or so, so I figured we'd us it around the shop...

I bought 2 complete 200 CID's and a 1 had a C4 and the other had a Cruise-O-Matic, both run great, so going to clean up one and install it this weekend....

Your pictures give me incenteive to do my engine and engine compratement.

It's been a long time since I pulled an engine, but I plan on pulling the 250 CID out of my 73 Convertible this winter, It runs fine, but needs a rear main seal. So I will go through it, clean it up and the engine bay. Need to do the seals in the C4 trans too.

The out side looks great, so the engine compartment is next.
