spark plug wires...
#1
I have a 72 Mach 1, 351cj. I am changing the distributor set-up, the existing one is a very early MSD HEI set-up for drag racing,it's ugly and doesn't advance properly, so it's gone. My new set-up is a Billet HEI with GM style cap and coil. I'm also replacing the spark plugs and wires. The plugs are Accel U-groove 8162. The problem is that the only pre-made wires I could find for this set-up cost over $100. So I bought a universal set ($38 from Jeg's) with the correct end type for my set up. I hate making my own wires but I'm sure it will be fine. One reason I don't like making my own wires is the process (pull a wire, cut a new one to length, install or mark it, then pull the next so on and so on... Does anyone know the correct length of each wire? If so I can assemble them all at once and then install them.
Thanks a bunch
Keith S.
P.S. If someone knows where I can buy pre-made wires, (under $50), please let me know.

Keith, sorry I am not near my car to pull measurements for you. Hopefully someone else is close and can do that for you.

Try a set for a modified truck 351m or 400m in 1977 thats what I done to my truck they fit great the factory style wires seem to fit nice.

Hope this helps Jim.
