Ive researched this so much I'm just lost and confused.

As most know, I have a 2010 Mustang GT. I'm in the process of lowering the car to get rid of the 4x4 look Ford decided to give the S197 Mustangs.

What I'm trying to accomplish is a good performer in the twisties as well as to have a good as possible quality ride over normal everyday roads. Phoenix roads suck. I can feel every single bump, expansion joint etc.. I know lowering and quality ride can be an oxymoron but theres got to be a way to achieve both, or at least a happy medium.

I recently purchased the Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs. Now I'm looking into the shocks and struts.

I cant decide between the
Tokico D-spec shocks and struts (adjustable)
Steeda Pro Action shocks and struts (non adjustable)
Koni STrt. struts and shocks (non adjustable)

What I care most about is lowering the car without feeling like I have no suspension.

Do any of you guys here have any recommendation or experiences?

When I go to all the other Mustang sites out there and read, everyone just has an opinion and it feels like some of those opinions are from manufacturers instead of real world users.

I'm also second guessing myself on the Eibach Pro Kit and wondering if I shouldn't have gone with the Steeda Ultra Lite springs instead. Any opinions on this?
The bad thing about reading to much is you just get confused and dont know what direction to go. What I cant do is have to do this twice to get it right.

I know very little about the newer Stangs, only the PJ and not many miles in that, though so far I have no complaints about the ride or handling. However, seems to me that at least the adjustable set up would allow you to soften things up for daily driving.....jmo

Yes that is what I was thinking but have been told, that even at the softest setting it is still harsh. I'm telling you the more I read the less I know what to do.
I had the Ford Racing kit on a 2006 GT and hated it. It also created a clunking sound after installing everything and I couldn't ever track down why it happened. I just wish Ford would do a better job keeping the suspensions lower from the factory. The 5 inch gap between the rear lip and tire is stupid and forget twisties, the rear feels like its going to throw out at any second. I went this past weekend to a place called Yarnell in Arizona with some awesome twists and actually had to slow down for fear it was going to buck out. I'm told the 2011 and 2012's aren't any better. One guy in our club has a 2012 GT and he complained about the same thing.

Wow! 5" gap? Good God! I just had to measure the one on the PJ after seeing that....The gap between the rear fender lip and top of the tire is a little over an inch on the PJ. Are your new rear springs a variable rate spring...softer at first then stiffer? If not, that might be the ticket along with the adjustable shocks.

Ya the new eibachs are progressive. I might be exaggerating the gap distance but it looks huge to me.

Well.....It may be that it's not possible to have your cake and eat it too. I wonder if they have some kind of air bag suspension you can use

I have owned alot of mustangs and vehicles over the years and I have had three cars with lowered suspension.

Even my current 1970 Mach 1 had a 1 inch lowering kit installed when I bought it. I finally got smart and went back to stock ride height.(to each his own they say)

I think that once you get one and have it for a year that you will learn to hate it just as much as alot of rice burner cars that are rigged up with it for a while only to find them selling them a year later because they hate the ride. They also find that the resals value goes .......waaaaaayyyy down.

Its my thoughts that you could get away with maybe an inch without giving away too much softness and comfort. Any more than that and you will feel every bump in the road like a gocart.

Well my normal on new cars is about 2 years anyway
Ive ridden in cars lowered before and they usually are still nice riding, if done correctly. If I wanted to go full Roush I know I could get what Im after my friend has Roush and it is a great riding car, or even if I went with coil overs that also helps a lot, its the cost factor I cant slip by the ole lady that is a bigger issue.

I'm totally leaning now towards the tokico adjustable. Ive been told it is a great ride once dialed in.

Until I find a Mach 1 I can afford its all just wasting time anyway. If I could figure out how to finance a 1969 Mach 1 Id be all over it, except usually classic car finance costs a fortune interest wise.

My wife and I might see what happens to the real estate market in Az and if it looks better next spring we might sell our house in the mountains. That house although I love it, is really the one dragging on our finances.
