I thought it worth sharing this information on Vacuum Advance units.
There is a company in Caboolture, Queensland, Australia who repairs vacuum advance units. They can repair your OEM unit or they can exchange yours with one they have in stock. Their service was outstanding, after I contacted them yesterday and paid via credit card, a fully repaired vacuum advance arrived via express post today, less than 24 hours after contacting him. (I am in Sydney about 1000km - 620 miles away) I just need to send him mine now to get a refund on the core price.
Not sure if there is anyone in the US doing this but if you want an original Autolite or Motorcraft part, not a Scott Drake or other reporduction unit, they might be worth contacting. It is only a small part to ship, so it might be worthwhile.
