I did not do the work, nor have it done. I have looked at several online lately, and another in person. I am 52 now, and certainly did not want a project. I wanted one already restored, and found this one. probably paid too much ($11,500), but it is ready to go. I might change the tires and wheels to something more 1973-looking, but other than that, nothing really needs to be done, except fixing that dang right-side mirror! Drove this car 200 miles to get it home, and could see nothing in the right lane behind me. The mirror is all there, but the glass will not stay in adjustment. It is too loose. Useless as is, and dangerous.

Thanks for calling Jim, figured I could just activate your account and send you an email instead of calling.
Mach 1 looks great Jim! The beard too!!

They even kept the original urethane front bumper! That's fantastic to many people go to the chrome one out of not being able to get one. A Mach 1 is suppose to have the urethane bumper!
I totally agree with you on the rims. It will look totally different if you go with the Magnum 500's or some of the other rims of that era.

Here's one example.

It comes down to what you want out of the car. I'm sure you'll want to hook up with your local Mustang club. When they have shows you'll have to determine if you want to stay in stock or modified class.
Either way the car looks awesome man, I know your thrilled and from the looks of it 11500 seems to be a great fair price, especially if it runs as good as it looks!

ooh sweet! hope my bright red mach1 will look as nice once it's back from the body shop.

x2 about the wheels, a set of mag 500's would do trick.

Can you fellows recommend a good place from which to buy those Mag 500 wheels?
Even though they are not correct for the 1973 mach 1, they look great, especially with some white letter tires, bigger in the back than the front, just like we ran on everything back when i was in high school in the 1970s.
