Another Smilie Suggestion

I just posted a similar suggestion on the 7173 site!

How about smilies that say "Support Our Troops" or "Thanks for Serving" to honor our members that serve their county (could be any country since we have International members).

Not sure if its possible to do, but it would also be neat if the members country flag could be displayed in the box with their Avatar. I could suggest the state flags too for the US members, but thats probably too much to ask. Just a thought! Go ahead, tell me I have too much time on my hands!

I like the flag idea, except it requires a lot of extra programming. 7173 seems to have a better programmer than I have. They also ask for donations.

Ill see what I can do. I can do a lot if I wanna pay a programmer.
Another thought is to add it to your signature??

I wish I had big programming skills but I don't. Also another issue is if I do a lot of extra stuff out side of what the mybb script has (the writers of the message boards), if they come out with a major update I could potentially have issue with everything being compatible.

Id like to make some changes just really don't know what to do.

It was just a suggestion over there too, no reply from them yet so I'm not sure they can do it either. I guessed adding the flags might be hard to do, so no problem at all!

I like the ability to know where posters are from at a glance at their Avatar. Is that something that can be added without too much difficulty?

Im looking into that right now.

I made some changes to the site, added lots of smilies and a few other little things most will not notice.

Your right about not noticing things; my wife says she would have to hit me in the face with something new before I would notice it!

Ok, I'll give it a try; on the home page I noticed the warning about posting within 72 hours changes colors and the red flashing "New" on the threads that contain new posts. Are those the changes?
