I found this link on Mustang Monthly. Good information, but it appears one of their steps is out of order. They show installing the new sending unit before installing the rubber seal/gasket. Otherwise good tips.

Read some where you should use a brass punch and a brass or rubber hammer so as to not create a spark near the fuel tank.

Good point, I did use a brass drift to tap the ring in and out!

Yes, ye old brass punch. Very important.

The old "big bang" didn't create life but it sure could take one!
