I personally don't care for the rear louvers, but if you're going that route, be careful of the aluminum ones and how you mount them. I've spoken with several guys who have installed them, and even when mounted according to manufacturer's specification, the owners had issues of rattling and damage to the rear glass. (fine scratches) New '71-'73 fastback rear window glass is not readily available, and most used ones are already scratched to some extent. Just trying to save you an expensive headache...
Roger1197, how much do those louvers from npd run? They look great. I am looking at getting a set this winter for my 71. My backglass is pretty scratched up so they can hide some scratchs for me .

Kevin.
My rear glass was totalled, 40 years of handbag buckles maybe??
I got a glass repair kit from a company called Rejel Automotive here in the UK......
time consuming & you need patience but does work, use plenty of water & keep the polishing speed & pressure low...... I worked on the rear glass scratch by scratch & for a few hours work saved me the cost of a replacement rear glass.
The Astra Hammond Louvre worked out around $330.00 + shipping from NPD, Jegs market the same product @ similar $$'s
There is a choice of material, the ABS requires painting to your spec. but I get the feeling this may crack/flake in time so I went with the Aluminium kit.
I have louvers on my 72 Mach1 I bought mine about 20 years ago and have only one complaint. When you open your trunk it hits the last louver. I took vacuum line about 2 inches long 2 pieces and slit them on one side so you can slide it over the edges of the louver. It works and doesn't look bad. Other then that I've no other complaints and like the look.
