I would look for a better car. I see you spending a lot of hours and a ton of money on that project.

I was going to ask if that was a Challenger in the background but you answered my question.

With a build date of 8/70 and the low VIN it is definitley an early 71. It would interesting to know if it was among the first of the "new" body style. It looks like saving, but would need a lot of work. I would think $1,500 would be a reasonable price if your looking for a project. Do you know if the engine will turn over?

I was high bidder on ebay at $1800. That did not make reserve. I offered $2000 but he said that was to low and needs to get $2400 out of it. I thought this was to high of a price to pay for a car that wont even roll since the front hub is missing.
The motor is out of the car and disassembled so no way to tell if it turned freely or not. I was attracted to it because it is already a manual transmission car. But I am scared that there is more rust damage in it than is readily visible.
Thanks

For the money man there are other options. This car needs alot of work. If you can do all the body work yourself from start to finish then Id say go for it. If you have to pay someone to do the bodywork Id run fast!
Keep saving you'll find something.
However, this could be a great parts car. Without seeing it in person.
I do know that front bumper if in decent shape or restorable is worth about 500-1000.
I bought a front urethane bumper on ebay about 1 year ago and was in a bidding war with about 30 people, ended up winning it for 750.00 and it still needed paint.

I got mine for $1600 in about the same shape. My engine was seized, but I also have front disc brakes as well.
I would be suspect of the frame rails - that much surface rust hides a lot of structural issues.

Thanks guys you just confirmed what I was already thinking. I will continue to look. If anyone knows of a good project in the NC SC area please let me know.
