Paint brands help

Hello havre any of you out there used Valspar paint in painting your car ? I have used and painted with PPG, martin seniour, dupont and a couple others But I have never used Valspar. It was recomended to me by a body shop in town that uses it and said there primers and sealers were fantastick. My problem is in my town we lost our familiar PPG dealer so I'm considering using Valspar from the body shop as can get the products from him. He also said their system was easy to use and actually better in cost than PPG. Please anyone with any experiance with their products both good and bad chime in ! I want to hear it all.
Thanks

Care about the warranty whatever you do! A good shop should give you at least 2 years from peeling or fading.

Never used anything but base coat clear coat.

Well Valspar has one of the best warrantys on the market for its undercoatings ( primer & sealer as far as tested with the traditional salt spray method ) it held up better than most on the market. Currently Valspar also owns house of color paints if anybody is familliar with them, and from what I heard has been manufacturing their paints for several years. I was more interested in anyone's advice who had maybe sprayed it themselves. They make quality automotive finishes and home paint and maybe tractor paint not sure about that one HAHAHAHA

I would add into the overall thinking of this what is that paint worth compared to say your PPG Dupont or BASF then throw in what its going to take in time if and from what i hear this other brand has a uv break down to now take all that first paint off cus sure as hell you try to put more expensive/ differest stuff over top the mess will double.I my opinion a paint job like an engine is a pretty important part of a car there are three words that don t belong in the same sentance Cheap Good and quick.

CAN'T TELL YOU MUCH ABOUT VALSPAR AUTOMOTIVE, BUT THE TRACTOR PAINTS ARE OLD FASHION ALKYD ENAMEL. IT WAS USED BACK IN THE DAY ON CARS, THEN THEY WENT TO LACQUERS AND ACRYLIC ENAMELS, AND ON AND ON. THE HOUSE OF COLOR PAINTS HAVE BECOME PRETTY POPULAR IN THE CUSTOM PAINT WORLD. THEY ARE CANDYS, PEARLS, ETC ETC. I HAVE USED THE H.O.K. PRODUCTS WITH SUCCESS, BUT HAVENT SEEN ANY REGULAR AUTO PAINTS FROM THEM.

My 73 Convertible was finished being painted by the body shop in March 2010 (painted in parts over the winter) using PPG paints. A year and a half later it still looks great, no complaints.

This pic is just after painting:
