I am in complete agreeance. They are made to drive.
If someone were to try and buy mine he would have to pry it out of my cold dead hands....HEHE
One more suggestion would be place a Missing Mustang (LOST and FOUND) for people wanting to find thier old high school car ..."like me"
I know Id pay 30 grand if I could find my old car
Vin number#OFO5H134944....
Last seen in Lubbock Texas in 1994 belonging to a Joe Rubalcaba, Dark Midnight blue metallic , no power steering, with red interior.
A thread like this could be used by us all to put our vin numbers on it and maybe someone will offer us a mint for our cars....lol

I bought mine at a dealer in Ohio in 2000 , it was what was called good driver , no rust Calif car , all the trim there , orginal engine , drive train , mechanical sound but in need of some work . It had been painted 3-4 times , carpet needed replacing and general upgrading of some interior trim parts.
I gave $16,500 for it then and have done quite a bit of work on it sense.
It was recently appraised by the insurance company at $ 30,000 to $35,000 . and I guesstimate I have invested about $9000.00 in a paint job , interior renovation and engine upgrades. not counting my labor , I am a little ahead of the game.

If you looked at the sold for prices which included buyers premium I think the Barrett Jackson cars are priced pretty competitively. I go to Barrett Jackson every year and there are some bad ass Mach 1's that show up, but they are also absolute trailer queens and the quality of those cars that sell for big bucks have something special about them, with either originality, options or production numbers. Trailer queens cannot be compared to drivers. I agree that these cars were meant to be driven, but also keep in mind you guys that drive these cars are not actually the Barrett Jackson types either. BJ buyers sometimes have more money than sense.

My point is that because of the high, sometimes ridiculous prices they get at Barrett Jackson. Every Jerk out there now thinks his rust bucket, of a Mustang or Mach1 is worth a mint. And eventually some fool buy's it and gets way more then he bargained for and loses heart (or his money)in the project! Happens more often then not. Seen to many people in this very perdicament. They end up losing there shirt to get out of it. JTS 71 Mach1
