'spain! (details plz)
As you wish!
Well I found my mach on the internet. It was being sold from a dealership in Folsom California. So I hopped a jet, weathered several connecting flights and was picked up at the Sacramento airport by the guy I was dealing with in the new mach. We drove 30 minutes back to Folsom to finish up the paperwork.
The next morning from Folsom, I embarked on a 1200 mile roadtrip that took me from Northern Cali down to Southern Cali before the road took me through Arizona and finally into New Mexico. My destination is a suburb of Albuquerque, called Rio Rancho. That turned out to be a 17-hour drive and I did it all in one day. This gave me a real nice chunk of time to get used to the new mach seeing how it performed at both fast and slow speeds. Slow speeds were typically when passing through a town or in areas of freeway construction. I have to say I was not disappointed at any point. The mach is one HELL of a vehicle. At one point, to entertain myself, I matched speeds with a Ford Fusion that flew by me even when I was doing 25 over the limit... guess it wasn't fast enough for him. Anyway, I saw he had a radar in his car so I was like, enh, what the hell, I'll let him by my cop shield! So for about an hour and 30 minutes, I matched whatever speed he did whether it was triple digits or high doubles. Whenever he looked in his mirror I was there with a
I gotta say, the mach performed beautifully at all ranges of power. I'm used to my old '99 V6 where it starts leaving its power range when you get up into those triple digits... mach doesn't have that problem at all!
I spent two weeks at my home in Rio Rancho both visiting friends and having mods from my old '99 V6 swapped over to the new ride. I also had some terminator parts ordered from a body shop I'm loyal to there and had those put in. In addition, I had a brand new stereo and viper alarm system tossed in.
After two weeks passed, I embarked on a 1700 mile trip taking me from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, allllll the way up to the Northern US into Seattle, Washington. Again I got a nice day and a half of being able to enjoy my mach at all speeds. One particular police officer in Northern Utah didn't appreciate my all speeds enjoyment and pulled me over. At least he told me I had a sweet car and let me off with a warning, politely asking me to slow down.
When i finally got to Seattle, after some oil and fluid changes, I dropped it off at a barging company to have it sent to me in Bethel. There are no roads into Bethel, everything must be flown in or barged in (during the season when the river isn't ice). So from Seattle I flew back home.
So yeah, I had quite a road trip in that small chunk of time and despite all the hours I spent in the car, I'm still not over the novelty and am frothing at the mouth for the bastards to deliver it to me up here so I can get back to my mach fix!
Bought the car on 7/12/11.
