It finally arrived today. Interior needs a lot of work but the outside is pretty nice. Drives like a champ too. Opened her up down a 100-yard stretch and maaaan did she roar. Skift kit might have given me a slight case of whiplash.
Much to my surprise, the car came with the upper ram air intake installed. BONUS!
Latest photo after Stinky's bath. I've named him Stinky because he immediately stinks up the garage with exhaust and my wife hates it.
Anyway, as you can see, I've added on louvers, front spoiler and rear spoiler. You might also be able to see the hood decals if you squint.
Other work that has been done so far:
New tires, completely new brake system to include master cylinder, vacuum booster, hoses, self-adjusters, calipers, blah blah, and newly re-attached choke cable that someone must have yanked out a long time ago.
Last night I painted and clear-coated my hood moulding strip. Just waiting for those dang acorn nuts to arrive via UPS!
Also started on the interior from the dash-up. Removed upper dash platform (and got rid of the crappy pad). Also removed all the upper trim and headliner. 40+ year old insulation fell everywhere. Was sneezing for hours. Also the plastic trim pieces more or less crumbled in my hand. Guess that ABS plastic isn't meant to be around that long.
Tried to get the front seats out but those bolts are rusted to high hell. Will have to wait til PepBoys re-open and go grab some penetrating oil.
Also, for anyone looking to give their rear spoiler a nice shine, I recommend Pledge.
Re-installed speedo cluster today. Got the speedo actually working now. It didn't work when I got the car and the cable was just banging around in the console when I drove it.
Also got my new original-style steering wheel on and made the horn functional again.
Good way to spend a saturday morning... even if it was snowing.
