What do you do for a living?
#1
I thought it might be interesting for those of us who would like, to share what it is that we do for a living.

I'll start: I work for Leydon Restorations in Lahaska, Pa. We restore mostly pre-war British, and European race cars, like Bugattis, Alfa Romeos, Ferraris, Maseratis, etc. We are getting into later years now...a few 60's, and 70's. We did have a Boss 429 in our shop for a cracked block repair, and reassembly.

We don't do as much body work as we used to, (I write this while covered in body filler dust Big Grin), but we specialize in rebuilding exotic engines and drivetrains that a lot of shops would not touch, because many parts to these 80 - 100 year old relics are not available, and we have to make a lot of them in our machine shop. Also, you just never know what you're going to run into when disassembling something that has been around so long.

You may check out our website, if you'd like

WOW twotime extremely impressive! Wish you were here in Phoenix I would bring you my business!!

I am in the franchise finance business. We finance people looking to open Burger Kings, McDonalds, KFC those sort of franchises, loans for 350k and above. Must be an approved franchise concept with us.
I will admit the past 2 years has been a little slow. Washington needs to fix the SBA!

www.CamelbackLLc.com and www.VCSCAPITALCORP.com Websites are not insane, its what my Dad wants, and whom Ive worked for for 15 years wanted. Hes the keep it simple type.
Good Topic btw! Goodpost

I work for Uncle Sam in the Department of the Navy as a Contracting Officer. I have over thirty years in and I'm thinking about retiring in November. Although after a couple months off I'll probably look for another job working for a Government contractor. We have four kids in college so it's hard to completly retire!

I've been working as a civil/structural design engineer for almost thirty years. I just started a new job a couple of weeks ago on a set of brabd new nuclear reactors for a large company known for its appliances (you probably own stock in this company). My degree is in petroleum technology which allows me to occassionally work in the oil field (I love the smell of crude and asphalt and leaded gasoline). I've been getting my nails dirty working on cars since I was twelve and would probably die if I had to stop.

Hey Guys, I grew up a class A mechanics son. Started learning from day one. At 13 I could repair, trouble shoot, or rebuild, any Briggs & Straton that existed. I also at that time accuried a 160 Honda scrambler. That started the motorcycle career. At 18 I was the only Kawasaki Mechanic in Kankakee Illinois. From there to a couple factory Jobs, in a machine shop for Roper Corp. To a truck driver, and then back to a motorcycle shop. Then back to a truck driver / terminal manager. Then to a truckshop as a mechanic, then a supervisor. Now at the present I'm a Transportation Director for my Local school. I'm still hoping for my Dream Job. Building Hot rod's and race cars and the occasional motorcycle. Now has any body got alot of MONEY! they don't know what to do with?????? I believe the old term is a Jack of all Trades.

I work for a major fastener manufacturer. Screws, bolts, nuts, etc. I do new product cost development. Help out with 3D models (Solidworks and Catia) and help the engineers with their AutoCAD problems. Nothing glamorous.

I work for the Air Force (Civil Service) as an IT Security Manager at Goodfellow AFB, TX.

I started in the Air Force in 1986 as a computer operator, was assigned to Goodfellow in '91 and got out at the 10-year point, then became a maintenance technician (mainframes - old iron), system administrator, webmaster, website designer, and IT security specialist working for various defense contractors for 11 years after I got out - then took my current job in 2007.
