Camshaft selection
#1
I'm currently rebuilding my 1970 Mach 1, 351 Cleveland 4 bbl, 4 sp, ram air. The engine is entirely stock, bored .030" over with stock flat top pistons at 11:1 compression. I will be running the original cast intake, and exhaust manifolds. I've found the specs for the original camshaft that came with the car in this website, but I'm having trouble locating anything other than racing cams. Does anyone know a good source for a stock hydraulic cam?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

There are alot manufacturer,s that do make camshafts . But you didn,,t say how you are going to drive your car . The best way is to find a cam that should do what you are needing . To find the closer to your needs make some web site searchs or type in aftermarket camshaft manufacturer,s . When you get on a site ask for the tech,s help . Do more than just one site . Also remember to buy the best of what you can aford . The parts are only good if they last you longer . But make sure if you need more parts do the job right . I think there may even be some roller cams out there too . C.L. happy hunting in the right places.

NOS cams are out there but, in my opinion not worth the money Look at Lunati PN 11101 it is essentially the late 1971/1972 351CJ cam (.505/.505, 219/229 on a 114 installed on 110). Almost any cam vendor will grind what ever you want for a reasonable fee. Use appropriate springs and break in oil (high ZDDP content).

Key for break with a flat lifter in AND everyday oil is one with zinc content.
