hi 71/73 mach1 ram air hood springs , the hood comes down after 2min

have tried new springs standard ones, no good but ram air hood springs
are stronger for the extra weight, but cannot get any have been told
they don't make them only the standard ones second had ones

are as old as mine so they will be weak, any ideas someone must have this problem or is it a broomstick to hold it up

Ya your definitely going to need the heavy duty ones. I would just keep and eye on ebay, I see them all the time. Good luck in your hunt, it must be annoying at car show having your hood always close.

Check with this guy see if he has any of the Heavy Duty ones.

I just switched out a factory flat hood for a ram air one. I didn't weigh the hoods but the ram air was noticably lighter than the flat one. I have the standard springs which have no problem keeping the hood up. Now I have heard that the aftermarket ram air hoods are heavier than the originals.
