I'm in San Angelo, Texas. It's so cheap here because you literally have to want to come to San Angelo, to come to San Angelo. There's no chance of getting lost and accidentally coming here by missing an exit on the interstate, since we're the largest city in the USA without an interstate (Yay! We're Number 1 at 'something'). It's so cheap to live here because nobody really wants to. I only live here because the Air Force dumped me off at Goodfellow AFB, then I got married... and since this is the only place she's ever lived more than 2 years at a time (her father was Air Force, her ex was a Marine, and this is where she got stationed out of tech school in '88). I can honestly say that it's not been all that bad to me, other than being hot, flat, dusty, 'West Texas,' and is not SLC, Utah (where I grew up). I've been worse places, though.
