If after a few seconds you can see just a trace of the baby oil that is about perfect as you will have to apply pressure to spread the baby oil into the vinyl, leather, rubber, etc. This won't leave a lot for the dust to stick to and if you got to much oil, a quick wipe every couple days with a clean cloth will make it look fresh again.
