66 Fairlane Project
The progress is looking great!

No new additions to my list of Ford's owned but I am still dreaming.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks Steven! I am pretty certain after my Fairlane is complete there won't be any more additions to my Ford's owned. The hint comes from my wife!

Finally built the courage to cut the opening in the floor for the transmission. I also got the clutch in the and bell housing I picked up from Mike here on the site. I needed a bell housing that would work with an 11 inch clutch and Mike had one he wasn't using.

I am just waiting on my friend to help me lift the transmission.

Hey! That bell housing looks familiar. First time I've seen a part I use to own on another car.

Those headers actually fit nice in there. Looks like you won't have any fitment issues with the clutch linkage.

I like the bell housing a lot and it is the right bell for the set up. I really appreciate it. A+++ seller and fast shipping!

From what I can see so far there should be no linkage issues. The headers are bent in a way that there is an opening for the Zbar.

Out of curiosity can you see the picture of the Mcleod clutch? I deleted it in my posting because it uploaded sideways?

Yeah, the picture of the clutch is rotated, but it's still easy to see. Nice looking clutch. At least the pressure plate cover is painted so it won't rust. Many are bare metal.

I deleted the picture because it rotated when I uploaded it. It looks like the delete function is not working or I am doing something wrong.

The instructions with the clutch says the clutch will have a slightly heavier pedal than stock. Curious to see how it feels.

Thank you.

Now, that is a serious hole! - But it covers up well.

Way to work within the club!

Some of those hints are subtle and sometimes not so much! But with how your projects have turned out, I am shocked (man speaking) that there are any hints at all. :)

Hi Steven, It is nice to work within the club for parts and help fellow members out. In one of my posts I offered a 69/70 shifter bezel that I didn't need because I moved to a Hurst boot. I think it was Black Jade I gave it to.

In regards to the hole, I actually made it smaller than the original. When I install the transmission today I may need to make it bigger. The original opening from the factory had a this hole pattern but were cut very crudely with an air chisel or torch. The factory 4 speed openings were not pretty at all like the Mustangs were.

My wife complains about my dirty clothes and mess I make when I clean up. She is a very clean person. You know the saying "if mama ain't happy nobody happy'!

We just finished putting the transmission in. Good news the hole I cut yesterday was perfect (I hate patting myself on the back but I was a little nervous making the cut). The shifter falls right in the middle of the opening. I am glad I kept the opening smaller but kept the shape to follow the originality of the crude factory job.

I attached a picture of a what the factory openings looked like and mine.
