I realise this would take a bit of fabricating and trial and error.
Remove the seat and (?) unbolt the runners from the seat.
The fabricating bit: Remove the seat to floor studs from the runners. Using 1/4" steel make strips to fit the holes in the floor but extending back past the original holes.
Using spacers as appropriate bolt the strips to the seat and the modified unit through the original holes back to the floor.
Maybe the 'new' bolts could be welded in and the head depth reduced.
My $0.02.
