After being a mustang fanatic since the age of four, my father tells me at age fifteen he bought me a 65 mustang for my first car. Most kids would have looked at this old turd sitting behind this guys garage and passed. Not me, I couldn't have been more excited to pull the car home and go back to load up the second truck load of pieces and get started. Being able to hold on to it all through high school, college, marriage, and kids has been a blessing. People see you in it and they say yeah I had one and wish I still had it. I still do
. After losing dad in 2009 at age 70 to lymphoma I was able to look back and remember helping on his first restoration, a 1931 Model A pickup he left to my nephew, to the mustang, and all his other projects and
. As I have mentioned before my oldest child is now enjoying the old 65 and even set up one of her senior pictures with it.

I second your sentiments.
How long did it take you to get the 65 on the road originally?
Have you gone through it again since or is it still on it's original build?

SHE WASN'T REAL HAPPY WHEN HAGERTY INSURANCE SAID SHE CAN'T DRIVE IT UNTIL SHE IS 25. SHE IS 18 AND IN HER FIRST SEMESTER OF COLLEGE. DON'T TELL HAGERTY BUT SHE'S HAD IT OUT QUITE A FEW TIMES,
EVEN TOOK IT TO HER SENIOR PROM. FUNNY STORY ABOOUT THAT, THEY PULL UP FOR THE ATTENDANT TO PARK IT AND HE LOOKS IN AND SEE'S THE PUSH BUTTON DRIVE, BLUSHES AND SAYS "YOU MIND PARKING IT?"
THEN HER MOTHER AND I ARE SITTING WATCHING THE GRAND MARCH AND A HUGE STORM ROLLS IN. GUY NEXT ME IS LOOKING AT THE RADAR ON HIS PHONE SAYING HAIL 12 MILES TO THE WEST HEADING THIS WAY. I START SWEATING AND MY WIFE SAYS THATS WHAT YOU PAY INSURANCE FOR WHICH DOESN' T HELP. AFTER ALL SAID AND DONE HAIL HIT WEST AND NORTH OF US BUT NOT US. I DO BELIEVE MY FATHER HAD HIS HAND IN THAT. NO HAIL DENTS ON CHRISTINE.
AND MORGAN CHRISTINE HAD A GREAT SENIOR PROM
P.S. MY BROTHERS BOY TOOK THE COUPE TO HIS PROM THAT NIGHT ALSO.
