Hi! I'm new and SO EXCITED!!! - Mach1Girl - 03-23-2015

Hi Everyone,

I'm so EXCITED about being a member of this club! I've been a Mustang lover since I was about seven years old. The 1969 Mach 1 has always been my Dream Car. However, I have not had the opportunity to own one. I've had a 1967 Fastback, 1971 Grande, 1988 5.0 LX, and currently own a 1967 Coupe. These are all great BUT they are not a Mach 1. So, I've decided not to settle anymore and have begun my search. As I said I do not own a Mach 1 (YET) but I thought I would join a Mach 1 Club for when my dream comes to me I will be ready. :) Looking forward to seeing, learning, and hearing all about the Mach 1!

Welcome.

Glad to have you join us on the forum.

It appears that you favor the vintage years. A 69 is a hot item to be sure. Are you holding out for a 69 or are you open to other year Mach 1's as well?

Here's wishing you the best in finding that dream car.

Welcome to the forum! You have great taste in cars. The 67 Fastback is no slouch. In high school a friend of mine had a beautiful 67 Fastback GTA. Keep your eyes open for your dream car. You'll probably find it when you least expect it. The 69 and 70 years of most muscle cars are the most desirable and the Mach 1 is no exception. I've had my 69 Mach 1 since 1995 and won't part with it for many reasons. One being finding another one might be difficult.

Best Regards,
Mike

Welcome to the site...

I just saw this one on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Mustang-/111627287406?forcerrptr=true&hash=item19fd813b6e&item=111627287406

Needs some finishing up and some interior pieces but price wise it is certainly in the ball park for what's already done to the car.

It looks fairly good. Kind of a mechanics dream for restoration. I would verify it's a Mach 1 and not a Sprotsroof that somebody swapped in Mach 1 interior. I've seen that happen. After that, what's left is mechanical work, some Mach 1 hood treatment paint, and Mach 1 decals.

It has some nice options, M-code, factory tach, fold sown rear seat, shaker hood scoop. I'm not familiar with Jasper rebuilt engines. They may be fine for a stock replacement.

Best Regards,
Mike

Hi!
Thank you for all the warm welcomes. They made me feel right at home.
Here are some answers to some of your questions:

I live in southern California about two hours from San Diego.

I like all the years of the Mach 1. However, I really like the look of the 69 so this is the year I'm looking for. I am a strong believer in the saying of "good things come to those who wait."

Thanks Mike for all the great info and I did see that one on Ebay. Definitely looks like a mechanics dream. I just replaced my 289 with a 302 in my 67 and that was a lot of fun. For my 69 Mach 1 I'm looking for a "turn the key." If I had more time on my hands I would probably consider the one on Ebay. What color is your 69 Mach 1 Mike?

Thanks Steven, impressive collection of Mustangs! JTS, the color I'm interested in is the greens like the beautiful Silver Jade. Low mileage (if possible), and the interior preferably not black because in the summer it can get as hot as 120 and black interior even with a/c can be crucial.

Thanks again for all the well wishes, help, and pictures. I look forward to talking with you all soon.

Take Care,
Mach1Girl

Mine is its original color, Meadowlark Yellow and Black Interior. There are a few pictures in the Showcase and Restoration - Members Projects section in this forum. Here is a link,

I don't drive it much. I tend to enjoy working on it more than driving it. Plus in Northern California traffic is usually pretty congested so its harder to enjoy. But I would still like to drive it a little more than I do.

Best Regards,
Mike

Welcome! 'My' 1970 is my daughter's - I just get to drive it (if I am good) and service it, usually with her.
