That answer is from a basic class, Mustang 101, I learned many years ago! Biggrin

But I'm sure there is some confusion among newbie Mustang owners.

I knew it as well, but I know there will be some that never knew, plus its good for just general history here on the site. Mach1Club.com may not be the very best site on the internet, but I will do my best to make sure its informative.

Hey guys, Great article, and as much as I know about our beloved pony cars. I didn't know near as much about this as I thought. I had heard bits and pieces of both stories but never with any real detail. Once again you came through Joe. Thanks JTS71 Mach1

The answer to that question is simple. It was the P51 Mustang. Not alot of people know that. Funny thing is ... When you go to Europe especially Germany. There is a very strong following of the mustang and boy do they know their history. Funny thing is they dont care. A car guy is a car guy...world wide. Germay does make a mustang look a like, built by ford. But for copy rights issues they cant call it a mustang. So what do the Germans do...they buy the American Service members cars that are a true mustang. Ok, getting to my point. Why would a nation such as the Germans, that were beat by a great plan such as a P51 Mustang want to own a car with such a name. Cause it doesn't matter where you come from...when you want a mustang you want a mustang. Its a great thing to see a German Mustang club when your over seas.

Fly it or drive it like you stole it
