Windshield Washer Setup - BDK - 12-24-2011

Guys,

Am working on installing the windshield washer reservoir, pump, nozzles and tubing. However, I have no idea how all this goes on and was wondering if someone could post some pics of their setup. Would be immensely helpful.....Wink

I have some pictures I took back in 2008 of my 73 Convertible while I was prepping for the body work. I ended up consulting some of these pictures myself to route the washer hoses back through the hood after the hood was reinstalled after the paint job. In the pictures the underside of the hood still has the black Ziebart rustproofing on it so it's hard to see the black washer hoses. Hopefully these will help, if not, let me know and I'll try to take some new shots of the specific areas for the washer hoses. I've owned my 73 since 1974 so I'm confident this is the proper routing of the hoses.

In the picture below, the washer hose goes into the hood with a grommet holding it in place, then back out another large oval hole closer to the windshield, then attaches to a splitter T. I'll try to take some close-up pictures:

Glad to be of help. Oz, Hopefully your friend will join the site; it's free!

Since this topic seems to be of interest I went out to the garage and took some new pictures that show better detail.

By the way, Now that the body is looking great, I hope to pull the engine this winter and detail the engine compartment. Not looking forward to removing the old Ziebart from the compartment, but it did preserve it and keep it from rusting.

Mike,

These are awesome!, especially the second set with the hood in white. It appears the nozzles just have a screw that attaches to the underside of the hood. Will need to find the black clips that attach the hose to the hood between the washer nozzles, but this is perfect. Thanks for the help!!!!!!
