High-Sodium, Low-Potassium Diet Linked to Heart Risk - Mach 1 Club - 07-13-2011 As I get older Ive started to try to take better care of myself. It can be tough sometimes because the bad foods sure taste a lot better than the "good for you foods". In reality I've worked to hard in my life to die young and not get a chance to enjoy some of the cream of life in my "Golden Years" geez I cant believe I'm saying these words when it comes to me. But Ive stopped eating fast food, I rarely drink alcohol, considering I was easily a case a week in beer this is big! I quit smoking another tough habit to stop. And Im determined to lose weight! Since this site is sort of like family with all of you, I wanna make sure to keep u updated on health stuff I find! It was hard at first, but I eventually got use to the salt free taste. RE: High-Sodium, Low-Potassium Diet Linked to Heart Risk - Mach 1 Club - 07-13-2011 I'm working hard to cut salt out completely, but its freaking everywhere! RE: High-Sodium, Low-Potassium Diet Linked to Heart Risk - Rare Pony - 07-13-2011 It's better to go with the frozen vegetables rather than the canned. The canned foods are full of sodium. RE: High-Sodium, Low-Potassium Diet Linked to Heart Risk - Mach 1 Club - 07-13-2011 I really go after organic nowadays. I'm almost anal with the way I shop for foods. A 30 minute grocery run has turned into a 2 hour ordeal since I must read every single label. RE: High-Sodium, Low-Potassium Diet Linked to Heart Risk - Rare Pony - 07-13-2011 My wife does most of our shopping, but I do my mothers shopping for her. At 88 years old she lives alone (about 3 miles away from us) and does pretty well, but I have to check most of the food labels to check on sugar, sodium, fat content, etc. It does take a while! |
